It is a 12th century temple dedicated to Vishnu, built during the reign of King Suryavarman II, surrounded by vast moats of remarkable dimensions and proportions. The heart of the temple is surrounded by a series of galleries covered with sculpted bas-reliefs. Visit to Kbal Spean (the river of a thousand lingas) north of Angkor. You reach the site after a 45-minute walk through the forest. The 1000 lingas carved in the "Valley of the Lingas" or "River of the Lingas", as it is often called, are a tribute to the Hindu god Shiva. Visit a more remote part (away from the main crowd) of the Angkor site (20km), the temple of Banteay Srei called the "citadel of women". It is one of the best-preserved temples of the site with its many mythological decorations which makes it one of the most charming temples of the archaeological park. With its small size, the pink sandstone site is surrounded by small moats and walls built of dairy and bricks. Lunch at the Bong Thom Homestay restaurant. Visit the Banteay Samre temple which is a beautiful complex dating from the 12th century. Banteay Samre is located at the heart of a legend featuring a king, who was killed by his gardener when he was surprised in the middle of the night eating cucumbers in his vegetable garden. Bike ride to discover the surrounding villages to discover the palm sugar factories. Visit the Preah Khan temple. More than a temple, Preah Khan was in fact a real city, extending over 56 hectares inside its dikes. A university was also located in this temple of Preah Khan which was dedicated to the father of Jayavarman VII. Nowadays, it is very pleasant to walk through the galleries of this labyrinthine temple, the bas-reliefs as well as the colors of the stone being more magnificent. Dinner in a local restaurant. Overnight in Siem Reap
