Day 1

DON KHONE – NONG NOK KHIENE – KOH TRONG

After breakfast, return by boat to Ban Nakasang and direct transfer to the Laos-Cambodia border (Nong Nok Khiene), in Dong Kralor. Crossing the border between Laos and Cambodia, administrative formalities are easily done on site Meet your new driver and guide at the border. Drive to Kratie and cross the Mekong by local ferry to reach the island of Koh Trong. Lunch in a local restaurant. In the middle of the Mekong, surrounded by fine sandy beaches, the island of Koh Trong is another Cambodia far from the bad modernism that now affects the land of smiles. Installation. Dinner and Night in Koh Trong.

Day 2

KOH TRONG

Breakfast. Morning discovery of the surroundings of Koh Trong. Located in the middle of the Mekong, the island of Koh Trong is surrounded by fine sandy beaches. You will enjoy a relaxed atmosphere, meet smiling farmers, fishermen with weathered complexions, visit lush orchards - a real paradise. Possibility of taking a ride in a cart pulled by oxen, if you feel like it. You will also not miss the opportunity to participate in the reforestation project. In the afternoon, you will go north to visit Phnom Sambok. The view from its pagoda located at the top is a reward after climbing the 300 steps. A view of the Mekong and the surrounding countryside that will take your breath away! Continue to Kampi. Favorite place for observing the famous freshwater dolphins: the Irrawaddy dolphins. You board a wooden boat to sail on the Mekong and maybe you will be lucky enough to see some. Night in Koh Trong.

Day 3

KOH TRONG – PREAH VIHEAR

Breakfast and then drive to Preah Vihear province. Check in to your hotel. Meals in local restaurants and overnight at the hotel.

Day 4

PREAH VIHEAR – SIEM REAP

Breakfast at the hotel, then departure for the visit of the temple of Preah Vihear, by the steep mountain road, by 4x4. You will be rewarded with a magnificent view of Cambodia and Thailand. The sanctuary is perched on the edge of the cliff with a beautiful view of the Cambodian jungle. The spectacular location has made PreahVihear a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Lunch at the local restaurant. Departure to Siem Reap. Dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight at the hotel in Siem Reap.

Day 5

TONLE SAP LAKE - KOMPONG KHLEANG AND ITS HOUSES ON STILTS

A new destination awaits you today, the lake village of Kompong Khleang, which is located about 40 kilometers from Siem Reap. If you dream of a place a little further off the beaten track, that you can discover quietly, you will be delighted. The village welcomes you with the unusual and picturesque view of its small houses perched on stilts. Around, between the bright green of the rice fields and the water of the flooded plains which reflects the sky, the colors explode and the photographers will have a field day. Do not hesitate to meet the villagers. In the afternoon, you return to Siem Reap, making a few stops along the way to discover the temples of the Roluos group, they are among the largest in the country and have resisted time very well. Upon arrival: relaxation or a walk to the market, organize your evening as you wish. Dinner in a local restaurant. Night at the hotel in Siem Reap.

Day 6

SIEM REAP - ANGKOR WAT - BANTEAY SREI - TA PROHM

After a first Cambodian night, you are fresh and ready to begin your tour in this new setting. We might as well start with the emblematic site of Angkor, which you were certainly eagerly awaiting. Angkor Wat is a temple built in the 12th century under the direction of King Suryavarman. You will need the whole morning to enjoy the visit of this vast site extending over 210 hectares and to identify all the characteristics of its imposing architecture. You will take a break for lunch before reaching Banteay Srei. This is also a temple, even older since it dates from the 10th century. It is also called the Citadel of Women and it is dedicated to Shiva. On its pink sandstone, the sculptors of the time deployed all their talent to depict Hindu mythology and figures of apsaras, celestial nymphs. You will greatly appreciate this site, which some specialists designate as the most beautiful work of Angkor. You then take the road back to Siem Reap, stopping at the Buddhist temple of Ta Prohm. The charm of this temple is enhanced by the surrounding nature, which has gradually mixed its trees with the venerable stones, sliding enormous roots of cheese trees along the walls and revealing the sculpted figures of the devatas, female divinities. Day 7

SIEM REAP - PREAH KHAN - NEAK PEAN - THOMMANON - CHAU SAY TEVODA - ANGKOR THOM

Your excursion today will be on a tuk tuk. This motor tricycle is an essential part of the Asian landscape. Head for Preah Khan. This temple built at the end of the 12th century commemorates the first Buddhist king of the "Great Vehicle" or Mahayana path. Here again, the vegetation has taken over, but the lichens and the fromagers in symbiosis with the stones will not prevent you from admiring the frieze sculptures and the vaulted corridors. Nearby, you will also visit a work of King Jayavarman VII, who was at the origin of many buildings. Thus, the Jayatataka is a Baray, a sort of basin, which has a temple island in its middle and is framed by four other smaller basins. The configuration of the place evokes a mythical lake in the Himalayas called Anavatapta. Continue your exploration by approaching the Thommanon and Chau Say Tevoda temples, which date from the 12th century. Admire the delicacy of the devatas and other decorations carved on the lintels. An equally interesting afternoon awaits you, starting with a visit to the Great City, Angkor Thom. You must take the time to decipher all the symbols linked to Khmer culture. Among the monuments you will discover, the most striking will be the Bayon, the Terrace of the Leper King, the Terrace of the Elephants, and everywhere, magnificent sculpted figures. Day 8

DEPARTURE FROM SIEM REAP

You still have time for a last dip in the atmosphere of Siem Reap. You can stroll through the streets before packing your bags. Your guide bids you farewell, and all you have to do is take your plane. Transfer to the airport according to your flight times. The room is at your disposal until noon only. Free meals.
